Outdoor Amenities

The Route 66 RV Resort was awarded the coveted 10/10*/10 Good Sam rating for the FIFTH year in a row. We’re confident you’ll agree as you delight in our many great outdoor amenities!

Putting Green

RV Resort guests can now practice their swing on our brand new putting green! Located by the Resort Clubhouse, the putting green has convenient access to your site. There is no charge for guests, simply bring your putter perfect your golf game.

Dog Washing Station (Opening Seasonally)

The Route 66 RV Resort has taken “pet friendly” to a whole new level and we added a dog wash station! We encourage you to bring your furry family pet with you while traveling through New Mexico. You’ll be able to shampoo, condition and rinse in the convenience of our fully sheltered dog washing station. Trust us, both you and your pet will love it!

Once the warm, spring weather arrives, the dog wash will be open form 8am – 8pm.  There is no cost for resort guests to use this deluxe amenity. And of course, owners are responsible for their pets.

Dog Parks

Many folks love taking their dogs on their RV explorations. At Route 66 RV Resort, we have two off-leash, fenced dog parks where your pets can stretch their furry little legs. Please clean up after your pet.

Open-Air Rally Barn

By far the largest feature among our outdoor amenities is our open-air rally barn. Under the roof you will find 16 picnic tables, counter preparation space, four gas grills and two sinks.

A picnic table holds a cozy family of six (or a family of four with two teenagers who “need their space”!). So our Rally Barn can accommodate your group of around 100 people for a rally, weenie roast, fish fry, taco night, or potluck dinner. Convenient parking is adjacent.

Pickleball

The up-and-coming sport of pickleball combines a bit of badminton, a touch of tennis, and a pinch of ping-pong. You may not be familiar with the sport, but the USA Pickleball Association (USAPA) sure is, and encourages family members of all ages to take up this fast-moving, fun sport. You play pickleball with a paddle larger than a ping-pong paddle but smaller than a tennis racket. You play on a court similar to a badminton court, with a three-foot tall net, just like tennis. Pickleballs themselves are plastic balls with holes through them like Wiffle Balls from your childhood. Route 66 RV Resort features two perfectly prepared pickleball courts.

Horseshoe Pits

Horseshoes is a lot harder than most people think. It can be a leisurely picnic pastime or a pulse-pounding, cantankerous clash. Try our horseshoe pits to build up your skills, then join a group so everyone can laugh and argue over leaners, ringers, dead shoes and wrong shoes. Feel free to bookmark the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association website for all the right rules and regulations.

Sand Volleyball

The great part of playing volleyball in the sand is the relative softness of the sand if you take a tumble. We feature a full court, so you can unwind with a friendly game after a long day on the road. Play by official rules or pack both sides of the net with your family and friends—we do not mind either way, so long as everybody has fun!

Resort-Style Pool with Cabana

Available seasonally, the Route 66 RV Resort pool is dramatically set against a rock backdrop. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas provide comfort for all-day lounging.
